Expanding St Ives-based firm Thomas Quinn has announced that chartered accountant Peter Barlow is to join its ranks as a partner.
Audit partner, Peter. 32, who is also a talented amateur cake baker in his spare time, has been working with the firm as audit manager since 2011 and is looking forward to helping this business and its clients face a changing future.
"I am excited about the challenges ahead, the added responsibility and about what the future holds both for ourselves and our clients," said Peter, who leads a team carrying out audits for customers. He added: "We work with small, medium and owner-managed businesses to help them achieve their company and personal goals, while making sure their statutory requirements are met."
Thomas Quinn works alongside its clients proactively throughout the year to guide them through the world of business as well as providing its range of accountancy, tax and auditing services. The company, which began operating in St Ives 21 years ago, now has branches in Chatteris, Milton Keynes and, most recently, in London. Tax partner, Phillip Beard said: "We welcome new young partners like Peter to the business. It is part of our evolution and adapting to changing times. Peter brings new ideas with his technical expertise, responding and relating to the new and young dynamic businesses springing up in the area.
"And we all love it when he brings in some of his baking - a particular favourite is the chocolate brownies."
Peter, who lives in Huntingdon, marked his appointment by baking his very own celebration cake, depicting himself in icing sitting at his desk at the firm's offices in Station Road. He first began baking as a child with his grandmother and has since become an avid cake baker often comparing recipes and competing in mini-bake-offs with friends who share his love of baking.
